A Word of Truth #086 (Luke 24:6-7)
Trustworthiness is built by honesty and faithfulness. Little will be entrusted to the dishonest and unfaithful.
There is no trust of greater depth and magnitude than that which we place in Jesus, our Savior. Think of it, we trust him to take away our sins so that we may stand righteous before God. We trust Him to be our ever present helper and guide through this life. We trust Him when He promises that He is preparing a place for us in heaven and will safely lead us there. We entrust our present life and our life that is to come completely into Jesus’ hands.
Thanks be to God, that our Savior is the Son of God and completely trustworthy! His resurrection on Easter morning is testimony to His trustworthiness. Before He died, Jesus told the disciples, “The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and the third day will rise again” (Luke 24:6-7). He is arisen! His Word is true! Trust Him!
A Word of Truth #087 (Luke 24:25-26)
Imagine going to a Bible class and having Jesus as your teacher! That is exactly what happened Easter Sunday afternoon for two men traveling from Jerusalem to Emmaus. They were walking along rather depressed talking about how their hopes had been shattered by the death of Jesus three days before.
Suddenly Jesus appeared and began walking with them. After they explained the reason behind their rather long faces, Jesus responded, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?” Jesus then explained how the Old Testament prophets had revealed that the promised Christ would have to suffer, die, but then arise again as part of God’s plan for our salvation. Jesus did arise from the dead just as the prophets said He would.
